पेट्रोलियम पदार्थको मूल्य बृद्धिको विरोधमा अर्धनग्न जुलुस जेष्ठ २७, २०७५ पेट्रोलियम पदार्थको मूल्य बृद्धि फिर्ता लिन माग गर्दै नेपाल विद्यार्थी संघले बझाङको सदरमुकाम चैनपुरमा अर्धनग्न जुलुस प्रर्दशन गरेको छ । देशमा पेट्रोलियम पदार्थको मूल्य हप्तै पिच्छे सरकारले बढाउन थालेको भन्दै एक हप्ता देखि आन्दोलन गरी रहेको नेविसंघले आन्दोलनको स्वरुप परिवर्तन गर्दै विरोध गरेको हो । गएको हप्ता देखि चरणबद्ध आन्दोनल गरिरहेका नेविसंघ निकट विद्यार्थीहरुले अर्धनग्न भएर सिठी जुलुस गरेका हुन् । सरकारले पेट्रोलियम पदार्थको मूल्य बद्धि गरेको र बजेट भाषण लगतै अन्य दैनिक उपभोग्य वस्तुको मूल्यमा पनि अप्रत्यासित बृद्धि भएको भन्दै आन्दोलन गरेका हुन् । महङ्गीले सर्वसाधारण जनता मारमा परेकोले आन्दोलन गर्नु परेको नेविसंघका नेता खगेन्द्र खड्काले बताउनुभयो ।  उहाँले भन्नुभयो, ‘सांकेतिक रुपमा हामीले आन्दोलन गरी रहेको छौं, सरकारले यो निर्णय फिर्ता नलिए आन्दोलनका कार्यक्रमहरु बढाउँदै जाने छौं ।’ उहाँले नयाँ सरकार बनेको चार महिना नपुग्दै पाँच पटक मूल्य बृद्धि गरेका बताउदै गरिब जनताको ढाढ सेक्ने काम भएको बत...

‘Pro-syndicate’ transporters impose strike on long routes Kathmandu, May 3 Transport entrepreneurs protesting the government decision to stop registration and renewal of their committees as NGOs have stopped providing long-route bus services from Thursday afternoon apparently in a bid to make the government let them continue their monopoly as syndicates. The transportation was halted after an announcement by the Federation of Nepalese National Transport Entrepreneurs Association. As per the protest programme, the Federation has warned of stopping operation of public vehicles across the country from Friday. According to an official of the Federation, buses that leave for farther destinations today will not reach their respective destinations till midnight itself, affecting the protest programme for tomorrow. “Hence, we have decided to halt the bus services from Thursday afternoon. Tourist arrivals in first three months of 2018 hits 300,000 Kathmandu, April 16: Some 300 thousand tourists arrived by air route to Nepal in the first three months of 2018, the latest figures on tourist arrivals by air route released by the Department of Immigration show.  As per the data given by the Department, 286,882 tourists arrived in Nepal via air route in January, February and March. The highest number of tourists arrived from China. Forty thousand Chinese tourists arrived via air in these three months. Similarly, 34 thousand Indian tourists arrived by air over this period. This tourist arrival figure is more by 11.4 per cent compared to the number of tourists who arrived by air in the first three months of 2017. The arrival of a notable number of tourists in the beginning of the year has added much encouragement in the tourism sector, general secretary of Hotel Association of Nepal (HAN), Binayak Shah said.
